Top 10’s Most Beautiful Women in Malaysia

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. It is beauty that captures your attention and personality that captures your heart. In this issue, Top 10 of Malaysia features its top 10 most beautiful women in Malaysia who have been shortlisted from a pool of some 30 beautiful women in the nation and ranked according to the results of one of the Top 10 of Malaysia’s recent surveys that has been carried out.( top10malaysia.com )




1. Deborah Priya Henry 

Deborah Priya Henry was the face of Malaysia International Fashion Alliance 2011. Our title holder of the 49th Miss Universe Malaysia 2011 and Miss Malaysia World 2007 was ranked top 16 in Miss World 2007, the highest placement achieved by a Malaysian woman since Lina Teoh in 1998.

Born to Malaysian Indian and Irish descent parents, Deborah started modelling at age 15 in London. She holds a bachelor degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Deborah co-hosts Bella, a magazine style talk show with Daphne Iking and Elaine Daly. She acted in The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines, a local film released in March 2011.

Very much involved in humanitarian work, Deborah cofounded Fugee School, a non-profit charity body that provides basic education to some 90 Somalian refugee children. She is also a World Vision’s child’s rights advocate.

2. Lina Teoh 

Winner of Miss Malaysia World 1998/1999, Lina Teoh of European and Asian descent made Malaysia proud when she finished third in Miss World 1998, a first not only for the country but also the highest placement ever achieved.

Lina, now married, is remembered for her award-winning role as Susan in the local English television (TV) sitcom, Kopitiam. She played the lead role as Annette in the internationally acclaimed Tony award-winning comedy play, God of Carnage, last year.

An emcee and host of a radio morning show for the national radio station, RedFM, our actress is also a popular host on Asian television.

An avid documentary film maker, Lina has produced and directed for the National Geographic and Discovery channels, and the BBC. Her productions include the award-winning “Great Apes of Asia with Michelle Yeoh” (2009).

Chosen to participate in Crossing Borders 2011, a Eurasia-Pacific documentary training programme, Lina was supervising “Malaysia to the World 2011” initiative for the Malaysian Film board.

3. Erra Fazira 

Erra Fazira was born Fazira Wan Chek. She is another former beauty queen who won the Miss Malaysia World 1992. She was the only Malay girl to participate in the Miss Malaysia pageant.

Like Lina, Erra is also an actress, TV host and film producer. After her beauty queen coronation, she was approached to play the lead role in the film Sembilu, which became a local box office hit grossing over RM4.39 million.

Erra rose to fame in the early or mid-90s and received a Malaysia Film Festival (MFF) award for her portrayal of Nora in Hingga Hujung Nyawa. She had three MFF award nominations for her performance in Soalnya Siapa?, Persona Non Grata and Anak.

2002 marked Erra’s first TV appearance when she acted in a telefilm. She hosted her own programme show, Fesyen Tempo. Erra is also a singer and fashion model.

4. Michelle Yeoh 

Datuk Seri Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng is a renowned Hong Kong-based actress from Ipoh, Perak. Known for performing her own stunts in the action films that brought her fame in the early 1990s, she was chosen by People magazine as one of the world’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1997.

She was the Miss Malaysia World 1983 winner. Her subsequent appearance in a TV commercial with Jackie Chan caught HK film production company D&B Films’ attention and that led to the start of her film career.

Michelle was the lead James Bond girl in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997). She is also famous for portrayingnationalists. Michelle played Soong Ai-ling in the award winning The Soong Sisters in 1997 and Aung San Suu Kyi in Luc Besson’s The Lady in 2011.

A film producer, she has her own production company. Michelle received in March 2012, the Officier de la Légion d’honneur award by the then French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

 5. Hannah Tan 

Hannah Tan has it all - brains, beauty and a great personality. While her Kelabit-Chinese parentage has produced beauty that is only too evident, all we need to do is to scratch the surface just a little to reveal a plethora of achievements academic or otherwise that is pretty impressive for the unassuming Penang-born girl.

Hannah was catapulted into the limelight when she represented Malaysia in the 2002 Miss Global PetiteWorld Finals in Montreal where she won Second Runner Up and the “Miss Congeniality” subsidiary title.

As a Valedictorian and Merit Scholar, Hannah graduated a year ahead and at the top of her faculty with an Honours degree in Computer Science. She acquired her first of two music Diplomas at the age of 13 and has also appeared in various TV commercials and advertisements for Epson, Panasonic, Citibank, Nescafe, Maybeline, Lux, Celcom, Digi and Maxis, among others.

She is also seen on the covers of magazines such as Her World, Female, FHM, Newman, Stuff, Health Today, Hot!, Hypertune, KL Lifestyle and Off The Edge.

6. Elaine Daly 

Qualified lawyer and TV host Elaine Daly was crowned Miss Malaysia Universe 2003. She started modelling at aged 14 and went into acting in 2001 playing the lead role in a local drama series.

Since then, Elaine has been involved in numerous TV dramas, telemovies, plays and films. She was nominated Best Actress in 2004 Malaysia Film Festival for her lead role in Di Ambang Misteri.

Elaine played a supporting role in the Bollywood movie, Hidden, in 2007. Her lead role in the drama series, “Apa Dosaku – The Sybil Khatigasu Story” won her the Best Actress Award in Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2011 where she played the part of her late grandaunt and heroine, Sybil.

Elaine was both host and judge of Malaysian Dreamgirls, the first online reality model search programme. She currently co-hosts Bella on NTV7.

7. Maya Karin 

Maya Karin of German and mixed Malay, Chinese and Indian parentage, was born in Germany. She grew up in Indonesia.

Maya started modelling and theatre acting in her teens. She graduated from Limkokwing University Of Creative Technology, Kuala Lumpur in Media and Marketing before venturing into the Malaysian entertainment industry.

Her first film role as a lead in Aziz M Osman’s Sri Dewi Malam saw her winning the Best New Popular Artist Award at Malaysia’s Anugerah Bintang Popular (ABP or Popular Star Awards) and the Anugerah Media Hiburan (MediaEntertainment Awards) in 2001. 

She bagged the coveted ABP’s Most Popular Actress Award in 2005. Her international acclaims include Best Actress at the 49th Asia Pacific Film Festival 2004 in Japan and in Spain’s Estepona Fantasy and Terror Film Festival 2005.

Passionate about the environment, she often works with the Malaysian Nature Society and World Wildlife Fund. Her MayaLovesNature campaign involves 22,000 school children from 14 primary schools where she creates awareness of the excessive use and waste of plastic bags. 

An ambassador for the government’s new recycling initiative and spokesperson for the Geological Institute of Malaysia, Maya is also a TV host and singer.

8. Kimberly Ann Leggett 

Aspiring to be a beauty queen since she was young, Kimberley’s childhood dream came true when she was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2012, at the tender age of 18. Being a fresh face to the industry, it was a defining moment yet even more of an essential start of a milestone, as her victory opened up many new ventures within a short period.

Being born and bred in Penang, her arrival in Kuala Lumpur upon her winning the title in late 2011 saw her gracing the cover of 360 Celsius and she was also invited to host the Malaysia International Week. Kimberley has since also graced the cover of Newman, featured in Female, Passions and Time Out.

Within such a short time of entry into Malaysia’s fashion and showbiz industry, she is already touted to win everyone over. As much as high fashion and beauty beckoned, she also undertakes various assignments to evolve herself to be a versatile talent.

9. Nadine Ann Thomas 

Nadine Ann Thomas captured the Miss Universe Malaysia crown in May 2010. A former student of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Cyberjaya, she is also of mixed descent with an Indian father and a Chinese mother.

Nadine who hails from Subang Jaya, Selangor, believes that beauty has to do with both physical and inner beauty as the heart is just as important as the way one looks. She has acted in the movie, Nasi Lemak 2.0.

Nadine has her own blog shop giving women of all shapes and sizes an urban chic and fashionable collection to choose from.

10. Aileen Gabriella Robinson 

Aileen Gabriella Robinson was the first runner up for the Miss Universe 2012. The “Goddess of Malaysia” also earned the Most Beautiful Hair and Audience Choice Awards.

Picked by Miss Malaysia Tourism Organisation to represent the country, she became the first Malaysian to win the Miss Tourism International 2012 in the home grown pageant’s 15-year history.She also bagged the subsidiary Miss Charity Queen title.

This beauty queen from Kuala Lumpur is the assistant principal of the ‘Shall We Dance Academy’.

She is of mixed parentage. Her father is English while her mother is of Chinese and Indian descent. Aileen loves to perform, dance, cook, go to the theatres and gymnasium, travel, jungle trek, draw, read as well as take pictures.

PENAMPILAN DAN TIPS KECANTIKAN ERRA FAZIRA

Assalamualaikum...Salam Sejahtera uollsss....

Sorry sangat2..sejak kebelakangan ni agak sunyi blog ini..tiada info atau buletin terbaru yang dipaparkan tentang Erra Fazira mahupun BEFC..

Cuma kebelakangan ini, admin agak sibuk dengan tugasan harian. Namun begitu tetap memikirkan dan cuba untuk update info2 terkini. Setakat ini admin tertarik dengan dua artikel di bawah..

Admin tertarik tentang artikel ini, apabila Erra Fazira dijadikan contoh di samping artis tersohor tanah air, Sheila Majid. Erra dikatakan bijak menjaga penampilan walaupun di luar waktu kerja. Bagi admin, secara peribadi memang beliau seorang yang amat detail dan peka dengan apa sahaja perkara yang dilakukan. Apatah lagi dari segi penampilan beliau walau di mana beliau berada. Tidak heranlah Erra sering dikaitkan dengan ikon fesyen Malaysia malah penampilan dan pembawakan dirinya sentiasa menjadi perhatian.

#TIPS KECANTIKAN ERRA FAZIRA

Setiap kali Erra Fazira melangkah ke acara karpet merah, pasti banyak mata yang tertumpu kepadanya. Dalam masa yang sama, jurufoto tidak henti-henti merakam wajahnya untuk tatapan peminat. Hendak tahu apa rahsia kecantikan Erra? Jom semak tiga tip cantik yang pernah dikongsikan Erra sebelum ini. Cuba amalkan dan lihat hasilnya.


1) Ketika menyolek bahagian mata, Erra tidak pernah menarik kelopak mata kerana dia percaya ia akan menyebabkan kekenduran kulit jika kerap dilakukan. Malah, Erra juga sering mengelak menggunakan penyedut minuman kerana ia boleh menyebabkan kedutan yang tidak perlu.

2) Erra sentiasa melindungi kulit daripada sinaran matahari. Setiap kali hendak keluar dari rumah, Erra mesti memakai krim pelindung matahari (sun block). Selain daripada itu, Erra juga tidak pernah meninggalkan rumah tanpa memakai cermin mata hitam untuk melindungi kulit di sekeliling mata.

3) Awasi pemakanan. Makanan terlalu berminyak berkemungkinan besar boleh menyebabkan jerawat. Erra memperbanyakkan buah-buahan dan sayuran dalam diet sehariannya. Ini kerana buah-buahan dan sayuran kaya dengan vitamin C yang baik untuk kulit serta memiliki anti oksidan yang membantu menyingkirkan radikal bebas.
